About Arts and Sciences at Fordham
With the appointment of Dr. Jessica Lang as the inaugural dean of Arts and Sciences, effective July 1, 2025, Fordham arts and sciences is, for the first time, a unified whole, and a singular community, able to provide undergraduate and graduate students a holistic, interdisciplinary—and uniquely Jesuit—education that prepares them to be leaders and doers at Fordham, and beyond.
Dean Lang, who came to Fordham from the Weissman School of Arts and Sciences at Baruch College, oversees the 20 academic departments and 19 interdisciplinary programs across Fordham College at Lincoln Center, Fordham College at Rose Hill, and the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.
Our undergraduate and graduate schools
Fordham offers more than 70 undergraduate majors, minors, and pre-professional programs. Each gives you the tools you need to think clearly, to debate effectively, and to find possible solutions for every problem. The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences offers over 40 doctoral and master’s degrees across STEM, humanities, social sciences and sciences as well as advanced certificates.
Our faculty
With over 1,200 full-time and part-time faculty members, the faculty is organized into twenty departments and a wide range of interdisciplinary programs. We provide a core curriculum to all undergraduate students, and we support dozens of academic majors, minors, and graduate programs across Fordham’s various colleges and schools.
