Counseling and Psychological Services
Counseling and Psychological Services (CPS) is an on campus mental health service within the Division of Student Affairs at Fordham University. Our mission is to promote and support students’ mental, psychological and emotional health and well-being through a range of direct clinical services; psychoeducational, outreach and prevention programs; and contributions to the mental health professions. Consistent with the University’s commitment to Cura Personalis CPS strives to foster a community of care that recognizes and values the depth, dignity, and uniqueness of all students.
If you are experiencing a mental health emergency during our non-business hours, please contact Public Safety, 911, or go to your local emergency room.
CPS Scope of Services for Fall 2020
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and in accordance with Fordham Forward’s reopening guidelines, CPS will continue to adopt, promote and practice a public health informed approach for the delivery and provision of its clinical services. This approach will be guided by the importance of protecting the health and safety of our community while simultaneously supporting and responding to the mental and emotional health needs of our students. Towards this end, CPS will offer a combination of remote, tele-health, and in-person services during the Fall 2020 academic semester. Please note that CPS will provide in-person services in compliance with the following Fordham Forward guidelines for mitigating the transmission of COVID-19:
Additionally, we have reserved private offices at both our centers to accommodate students with tele-mental health appointments who are unable to engage in those services elsewhere due to environmental, physical, or technological barriers.
To schedule an initial screening or walk-in appointment, or for assistance with finding mental health resources in your local community, please contact one of our offices below during our normal business hours (Monday to Thursday from 9-7 and Friday from 9-5):
