Severe Weather Plan

Saturday, May 18 - University Commencement and Diploma Ceremonies

Because we do not have one indoor facility that is large enough to hold all of our graduates and guests, we will hold the University Commencement ceremony outside if at all possible.

Please be aware that if there is just a little rain or periodic showers, the ceremony will likely remain outside. Therefore, please plan ahead and carry an umbrella, wear sensible shoes, and bring a nice sense of humor.

Two guest tickets are required if the ceremony moves indoors. Information regarding claiming tickets will be shared by the dean’s offices with graduates.

The decision regarding the severe weather plan will be made on the night of Friday, May 17. You may check Fordham's website at fordham.edu or call the University at 800-280-7669 for a recorded announcement.

If a decision is made to conduct all ceremonies indoors, graduates and their two guests (with tickets) should report to the following severe weather locations:

Severe Weather Locations:

Fordham College at Rose Hill: Lombardi Fieldhouse
Gabelli School of Business (bachelor's candidates): Rose Hill Gymnasium
Fordham College at Lincoln Center: Martyrs' Lawn Tent
School of Professional and Continuing Studies: Collins Auditorium
Graduate School of Arts and Sciences: University Church
Graduate School of Religion and Religious Education: Keating First Auditorium
Gabelli School of Business (master's and doctoral candidates): Keating Third Auditorium
Graduate School of Education: Fordham Prep Theatre
Graduate School of Social Service: Keating Third Auditorium
School of Law: Keating Third Auditorium

The University Commencement ceremony address and honorary degree presentations will be videocast to the locations listed above. Following the University Commencement ceremony, graduates will remain at the locations above for their diploma ceremonies, with the exception of the Gabelli School of Business (master’s candidates), the Graduate School of Social Service, and the School of Law, whose school diploma ceremonies will take place on other days.
