Test Scores

We require scores from the SAT or ACT — but they’re just part of what we consider. We use them in conjunction with your high school transcript to predict how well you’re likely to do here. All our students are exposed to the humanities, math and science through Fordham’s core curriculum, so these scores are important to gauge how well you’re prepared. Since quantitative analysis is a critical part of the curriculum in the Gabelli School of Business, applicants to this college should have coursework in precalculus (at minimum) or calculus (preferred), and have Math scores at or above 670 (SAT) or 28 (ACT).

SAT
Test scores for the middle 50% of admitted students in the Class of 2023 ranged from 1320-1460 on the SAT, and 30-33 on the ACT.

SAT and ACT (SAT code: 2259; ACT code: 2748) with writing is not required.

Scores are considered official if they are sent from the testing agency directly. Fordham will also accept copies of score reports that the student's school counselor certifies as official and sends to us directly from their school email address. Please send score reports directly to egoperations@fordham.edu.

NOTE: Due to test cancellations in the Seattle area and test postponements in Puerto Rico, we will be as flexible as possible receiving late scores for Early Action and Early Decision from applicants in these regions.

Taking Multiple Tests

Should a student take more than one of the tests above, Fordham will consider the highest from either the ACT (superscored) or SAT (superscored).
