However, the program is open to students in any major looking to pursue a career in healthcare. As a part of the minor, you’ll take courses that meet the prerequisite requirements for medical, dental, nursing, and other health professional schools.
You can also join our pre-health program where you’ll receive personalized one-on-one advising and join a tight-knit community of peers, giving you the support you need to thrive in a range of careers in medicine and beyond.

You’ll start by taking foundational courses, like General Biology, where you’ll study the chemical and cellular basis of life. Then you’ll dive deeper into courses like Human and Comparative Physiology, where you’ll learn how the environment can impact a person from the cell level up, or Genetics Lecture, where you’ll explore classic and cutting-edge genetic research and see its real-world applications in medicine, agriculture, and industry.

At Fordham, you’ll use AI as a tool to enhance your learning. Our program will equip you with the skills to navigate the ever-changing landscape of AI in the workforce. As a part of the health sciences minor, you’ll be able to use AI in your own research, from drug discovery to genetic modeling.
You’ll also be able to earn credentials and paid micro-internships through IBM SkillsBuild’s Getting Started with AI course. All Fordham students and graduates have access to AI training through RamConnect, the University’s alumni and experiential learning platform.
Above all, you’ll learn skills that can’t be replaced by AI, such as critical thinking, creativity, emotional intelligence, and integrity.
