Travel Booking Process for Domestic and International

All Fordham University faculty, staff, and authorized travelers are required to follow the steps below when arranging domestic or international travel on behalf of the University. 

  1. Review University Travel and Safety Policies

Before making any travel arrangements, review Fordham University’s Travel & Expense policy to confirm that your proposed trip meets all requirements for permissible travel. Some destinations or travel types may require additional review or approval prior to booking. Travelers are responsible for complying with all applicable University guidelines and safety protocols. 

  1. Obtain Required Approvals and Confirm Funding

Secure all required approvals in advance, in accordance with Fordham University travel and expense policies. Travelers should also confirm with their department or manager that sufficient funds are available to support the travel expenses before booking. 

  1. Book Travel Through Approved Channels

It is strongly encouraged that all airfare, lodging, and related travel arrangements be booked using Fordham University’s approved travel booking tool, Concur, or through the University’s authorized travel management company, World Travel. Booking through approved channels ensures access to negotiated rates, duty-of-care support, and assistance in the event of travel disruptions. 

  1. Register Your Travel Itinerary

International Travelers are required to register their trip details in Fordham University’s travel registry prior to departure. Registering travel allows the University to maintain accurate traveler records and share destination-specific guidance.
