Center for Educational Innovation

About the Center

Launched in Fall 2025, Fordham's Center for Educational Innovation is a university-wide resource that supports instructors in developing high-quality, innovative, and inclusive teaching methodologies, leverages the Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm, and fosters learning experiences to meet diverse learning needs of students across all modalities of instruction.

The Center for Educational Innovation advances educational innovation at Fordham; develops ongoing pedagogical professional development, and learning technology training and programming, for faculty to support excellence in teaching and learning; provides support to faculty on best practices related to assessment, the integration of technology for equitable and inclusive experiences that help students to achieve learning outcomes; and facilitates workshops and training sessions across the university. 

  • Margaret (Meg) Konkel is the inaugural Senior Director for Fordham's Center for Educational Innovation, and brings to the University a commitment to innovative, student-centered, and inclusive teaching practices. Meg was most recently at Radford University in Virginia where she was an associate professor of design thinking and served as the Faculty Fellow for the Honors Program for the past three years. Prior to Radford she held positions at Montana State University and Marymount University (Arlington, VA) where she focused on curricular and pedagogic innovation. 

    Dr. Konkel earned her Ph.D. from Montana State University, her M.F.A. from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA, and her B.A. from The College of William & Mary.
