2027 Call for Applications

The Center for Educational Innovation (CEI) invites faculty to apply for the 2027 Learning Innovation Collaborative (LIC) Fellowship.

Now in it's second year, the LIC brings faculty and students together in partnership to reimagine teaching and learning and develop innovative, learner-informed pedagogies. Each year, the Fellowship focuses on a central theme. The 2027 LIC Fellowship will "lean into learning" for an AI-aware world by centering experiential and problem-based learning in support of Fordham's strategic plan.

Active, experiential, and problem-based pedagogies are effective ways to manage the impact that AI and large language models have on learning across a range of fields. These pedagogies put into practice decades of research findings from neuroscience, cognitive psychology, and biology on how humans learn, which Doyle summarizes neatly as, "it's the one who does the work who does the learning."

Course design will take place during the spring 2027 Fellowship term. In May of 2027, student and faculty Fellows will share their EL models with the broader Fordham community; this public forum will offer key insights and lessons learned from the design phase to address barriers to implementation of EL pedagogies. Faculty will pilot and evaluate their EL models with CEI support during the 2027-28 academic year.
