The identity of the Fordham Club is three-fold: an honor society, a fraternity and an advisory group. As an honor society, the Fordham Club unites dedicated and motivated seniors during their final year and stipulates continuing loyalty to Fordham in years to come. As an advisory group, members provide important channels of student-administration communication and consultation. The fraternity aspect comes to fruition with the dedicated alumni involvement of those who have been in the club prior, maintained by networking events and other collaborative connections.

The Club was founded in the fall of 1954, and the organization’s charter reads that its select membership should be “recommended by their prominence and influence in extracurricular endeavors during their first three college years, having contributed in a significant and preeminent way to the vibrant spirit of Fordham.” Just as the members have been invited for over fifty years, students are invited to apply based on academic performance and community involvement at the Fordham Rose Hill campus.

Fordham Club members meet regularly with the Senior Associate Dean to provide student input regarding the directions of the College and to discuss potential changes to enhance the Fordham student experience. In so doing, the Club also takes on projects and produces events that will improve the university experience for students in years to come. Fordham Club typically has the three following committees:

Bronx Collaboration Committee aims to build stronger relationships between the Fordham community and the surrounding Bronx community. The Club strives to integrate the cultures and histories of the two communities through collaborative programming. This often manifests in Bronx Celebration Day during the late Spring season.

Diversiphi Committee aims to create a more welcoming Fordham community through awareness and appreciation of all forms of diversity, such as religion, race, ideology, and ability. This committee embraces service and inclusion. In years past, the Fordham Club has focused on creating a Diversiphi art event, revamping the Rose Hill American Disabilities Act webpage, and compiling a calendar of diversity events on campus.

Student Leadership and Services Committee - originally the Campus Community Committee - aims to empower students to succeed through improving mental wellness, developing student leadership skills, and enhancing access to essential Fordham information. Often this looks like planning “Days of Relaxation” or participating in Fresh Check Day and facilitating discussions between club leaders about the resources available to club leaders. In years past the club has also cooperated with Fr. Marcotte on a campus-wide mental health initiative.
