Introducing Fordham Law’s Professional Track LLM 


A flexible executive master’s program for busy, foreign-trained lawyers/law graduates.

The Professional Track LLM program is perfect for working global practitioners whose professional demands prevent them from completing a traditional nine-month LLM residency.

Students in the program can become eligible to sit for the New York State bar examination by completing the degree in two years.

  • Begin your studies in August or January.

    • Complete your first 4.5-month semester.
    • Return home for up to 15 months.
    • Come back to Fordham for your second 4.5-month semester.
    • Receive your degree!

    Sample Schedule #1

    • Begin in August.
    • Study through December.
    • Return the following August.
    • Complete the program in December.

    • Begin in August.
    • Study through December.
    • Return one year later in January.
    • Complete the program in June.

    • Begin in January.
    • Study through May.
    • Return the following January.
    • Complete the program in June.

    • Begin in January.
    • Study through May.
    • Return in August of the following year.
    • Complete the program in December.

  • • Complete at least 24 credits.

    • Complete the degree requirements within two years (in order to become eligible to sit for the New York bar examination).

    Students in the Fordham Law Professional Track LL.M. program will not be eligible for Optional Practical Training when they graduate.
