Dr. Berg conducts research on New York City politics and government and urban health policy. He is the author of New York City Politics: Governing Gotham (Rutgers University Press, 2007) and Healing Gotham: New York City’s Public Health Policies for the Twenty-first Century (Johns Hopkins University Press, 2015). He has published articles on New York City politics, interest group politics and health policy. He is currently conducting research on policies to combat obesity in American cities.
Dr. Berg regularly teaches courses on New York City politics, family (domestic relations) policy, and urban health and environmental policy. He has also taught courses on interest groups, American federalism, health policy, and urban politics.
