A&S Sponsored Grants and Initiatives

A&S supports faculty development with dedicated grants and initiatives. Whether faculty are seeking seed funding for a new research endeavor, looking to bring a groundbreaking co-curricular project to your students, or hoping to collaborate with colleagues across the Atlantic, A&S provides resources to help them succeed.

Mid-Career Microgrants

Mid-career microgrants support faculty research, with a priority given to tenured faculty who are progressing to the rank of Associate or Full Professor. The program provides up to $5,000 for faculty research activities, such as travel for fieldwork or archival research, training and skills acquisition, research assistants, and other expenses. Calls for proposals occur in the spring for activities the following academic year.

A&S Challenge Grants

Challenge grants support co-curricular activities and other events (such as lecture series) that enhance the academic life of the University but are not confined to a single class. Funded activities are student-facing and are not primarily meant to support a particular faculty member’s research agenda. The typical award is in the range of $500 to $5,000. Grants are awarded before the start of each academic year.

Fordham London Faculty Exchange Program

As part of our commitment to cultivating a unified global academic community, A&S sponsors a Faculty Exchange Program connecting our New York campuses with Fordham London. The program supports faculty travel between New York and London to encourage rich, cross-campus collaborations in research, pedagogy, and other academic endeavors. Priority is given to London-based faculty, with the expectation that faculty will give a talk or participate in workshops and other A&S activities while in New York. Grants are awarded on a rolling basis upon application to the Vice Dean for Faculty Affairs and the Senior Director of Fordham London.
