Peer and Residential Ministry

CM: peer/res ministry

Campus Ministry supports your residential experience through Presence, Partnership, and Liturgy in order to help you navigate the joys and challenges of college life; provide programs and opportunities for you to learn, serve, grow, and build community with one another; and offer opportunities for communal worship and prayer.

Presence

Our Residential Ministry and Peer Ministry programs connect live-in campus ministers, chaplains, and student volunteer leaders with residential students to support you and connect you with one another.

Partnership

Campus Ministers work closely with Residential Life professional and student staff and leadership to provide programs that help enhance your Fordham experience and create communities of responsibility open to spiritual growth and social action.

Liturgy

Many of the residence halls have Catholic Mass offered weekly, biweekly, or monthly.  The schedule will vary so check with your Priest-in-Residence.  We also welcome the opportunity to offer prayer services and interfaith worship.  Contact your resident minister or liaison to discuss these opportunities further.

Resources

Residential Ministry

Campus Ministers and Chaplains live in residence halls to support students, partner with the residential life staff, foster spiritual growth, provide counsel and conversation, and build community.  We also have Campus Ministers who serve as liaisons to communities who do not have a live-in minister.  Meet our Resident Ministers, Chaplains, and Campus Ministry liaisons through the drop-down tabs below.

Campus Minister/Residence Hall Liaisons

If your building does not have a resident minister or chaplain, they do have a Campus Ministry liaison you can contact for support, programming, community building, or other partnership:

Peer Ministers

Our student peer ministers are leaders within the community who volunteer their time to provide additional opportunities to connect peers with one another and Fordham’s mission of service, spirituality, and social justice.  Our Peer Ministers facilitate small communities called GroupChats on a variety of themes (i.e. Women’s, Social Justice, First-Year & Transfer Students, etc.) and also offer programs such as Meditation and Movement, presence hours for drop-in conversation, service and justice projects, and much more!  If you are interested in learning about Peer Ministry programs or joining a GroupChat community, please contact campusminlc@fordham.edu. If you’d like to learn more about serving as a Peer Minister, contact Erin Hoffman (ehoffman12@fordham.edu).  We seek to represent all the faiths and spiritual backgrounds of our Fordham Ramily!
