Our logo represents who we are, and our tagline encapsulates what we stand for. When combined, they signify exactly what makes us so unique. Because they are an important symbol of our identity, it is imperative that we use them correctly on our marketing materials.

This is the official logo for Fordham. The official Fordham University Seal is reserved for official documents, including commencement material, presidential and trustee documents and legal, academic or official university documentation - or for the highest awards and certificates. It may not be modified in any way. This Fordham logo may not be attached to any other type or graphic element other than the logos described on the following pages.

Please be sure to allow for the size of the tagline and the seal in printed material. The seal and tagline cannot be too small in print material as the ink can bleed through the small spaces of
white.

This is an alternate logo within the Fordham visual identity system. This logo appears on all Fordham University marketing material that is not related to the Presidents’ office, and official University communication. It may not be modified in any way. The Fordham logo cannot be attached to any other type or graphic element.

This is a secondary Fordham logotype. It is one of the primary elements of Fordham’s visual identity system and must appear on all marketing materials that are not related to the Presidents’ office. It may not be modified in any way. Please note that the tagline is difficult to reproduce when placed on top of images or knocked out of a background. Therefore, this version should only be used when the logo is large enough for the tagline to reproduce clearly. The Fordham logo cannot be attached to any other type or graphic elements.

Clear Space Requirements for all Fordham Logos

The clear space is the protected area around the logo that must be maintained to ensure no other graphic elements interfere with its clarity and integrity. It is also the minimum space the logo may be placed from any corner of an artboard in which it is based.

  • The defined clear space is specified in X units.
  • The “X” unit correlates directly to the weight of the marks’ indicated serif.
  • Clear space minimum requirements are 1 x the height and width of the seal or when not using the logo with the seal, it is 1 x the height and width of the letter “F”.
  • Clear space requirements must be observed at any reproduction size.
  • Do not typeset the logo yourself.

Unacceptable Logo Usage

It is extremely important to brand success that the Fordham logo be displayed correctly. The examples below illustrate unacceptable displays.

Lock-Ups

Schools, centers and large administrative offices have their own unique logo style that integrates the Fordham logo with their office. Below we have an example of how the these lock-ups can be presented.

Schools

Every school within the university should have a lock-up. These lock-up contain the Fordham logo and the name of the school. We have prepared black, maroon and white lockups for every school in a one and two-line formats. For example, the Graduate School of Social Service has six lock-up options (maroon, white and

black).

Lock-Ups/Centers

Every center at Fordham should have a lock-up. The lock-up for each center contains the Fordham logo and the name of the center. For example, the Curran Center for American Catholic Studies has three lock-up options.
