Joining Fordham’s English department will give you tools to help define your professional, personal, and political life goals. In exciting and engaging courses, you will learn how your reading and writing can make a difference in a world that is struggling over questions of race and social justice. As a member of one of the most lively and active communities on campus, you’ll have access to our networking activities, organized by students, faculty, and alumni, that leverage our deep ties to New York City and beyond to help you map your goals onto future careers.

We offer a major in English, a creative writing concentration, three minors, an M.A., and a fully-funded Ph.D.
