Kimberly Malone, Director of Tandem Advising & Advising Dean, Fordham College at Lincoln Center (FCLC)
Kimberly joins the Fordham College Advising Center with over a decade of experience in higher education, including previous roles as a Dean of Academic Advisement at Berkeley College and as Senior Counselor for Molloy University's St. Thomas Aquinas Program, the descendent of its EOP program, for first year students. Kimberly's proactive, student-centric advising philosophy values building strong relationships and offering tailored support to students, empowering them to make informed decisions and achieve their full potential.
Originally from Chicago, Kimberly has a Bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Columbia Business School. Prior to her career in higher education, she enjoyed a career in finance, human resources and organizational development. Kim is very active in her local community and recently became an empty-nester.
Beth Markowitz, Director of Tandem Advising & Advising Dean, Fordham College at Rose Hill (FCRH)
Beth joins the Fordham College Advising Center with a background in advising and academic affairs. She has worked at Manhattan College in career counseling, New York University in academic advising and academic affairs; and most recently, Lehman College, serving as the Chief of Staff to the Provost. She has a bachelor’s degree from Siena College, a master’s degree in Counseling from Manhattan College, and a doctorate in Higher Education Administration from New York University.
Robert Rahni, Director of Transfer Students, FCLC and FCRH
Robert joins the Fordham community having worked with a diverse group of students at three different institutions of higher education. With ten plus years of higher education experience, prior to joining Fordham, he served as the Director of Transfer and Veteran Admissions at Manhattan College. Robert has also worked for The New School and Pace University. While not former service himself, as part of his professional background he has assisted and supported military connected students with the transition to College and civilian life since 2011. A native New Yorker, Robert is a diehard Knicks fan and pizza enthusiast. He holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration, a Bachelor’s of Arts, and a Master’s of Science all from Pace University. Prior to working in higher education, Robert served as the Psychometrician at a youth adjudicated facility for juvenile delinquents.
Gladis Martinez Avila, Academic Advisor, FCRH
Gladis Martinez Avila is an experienced higher education professional with a strong commitment to student success. Prior to joining Fordham, she worked with opportunity program students in HEOP and supported international and transfer students, where she also taught First-Year Experience courses. She enjoys building meaningful connections with students and guiding them through their academic journey. She is passionate about helping students thrive and celebrating their success at Fordham.
Corbett Bazler, Ph.D., Academic Advisor, FCRH
Corbett received his bachelor’s degree at University of California, Berkeley and his Ph.D. in historical musicology from Columbia University in 2013. Before coming to Fordham in 2019, he was an assistant professor of music at the University of Rochester and assistant professor of musicology at the Eastman School of Music. In addition to teaching music history, he has been active as a first-year, junior, and summer advisor at Fordham College at Rose Hill.
Alixon Delgado, Senior Academic Advisor, FCRH
Alixon Delgado brings over a decade of experience in Academic Advising to the Fordham College Advising Center. With a master’s degree in Higher Education from Baruch College, Alixon has dedicated her career to supporting and guiding students through their academic journeys. Her extensive background at CUNY includes a variety of roles in student affairs, where she has consistently demonstrated her passion for being a student’s biggest cheerleader. As a Bronx native and an avid New York Yankees fan, Alixon combines her deep-rooted local pride with a commitment to helping students achieve their goals.
Sandra Fowler, Senior Academic Advisor, FCRH
Jennifer Giorgio, Academic Advisor, FCRH
Jennifer graduated from Fordham College at Rose Hill with a bachelor’s in English literature and history and received her master’s degree in English literature from Fordham’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Before joining the Fordham College Advising Center in August 2022, she worked in the Fordham College at Lincoln Center’s Assistant Deans’ Office as the senior executive secretary supporting seniors and first-year students.
Dennis Holden, Senior Academic Advisor, FCRH
Dennis joins the Fordham advising team with over a decade of experience in education, primarily as an academic advisor, and most recently was the Assistant Director of Academic Advising at Manhattanville College in Purchase, NY. Dennis has their associate's degree from SUNY Westchester Community College, a bachelor's degree from SUNY Purchase College, and their master's in counseling from Mercy College. Their greatest joys in their work include seeing their students’ successes, and being a supportive presence for their students on campus. Dennis once caught a home run at Shea Stadium, has seen the movie Back to the Future hundreds of times, and hopes and dreams that the Mets, Jets, Knicks or Rangers bring a championship back to New York.
Evelyn Jean-François, Senior Department Assistant on Fordham, FCRH
Evelyn Jean-François is a NYC native who brings more than a decade of experience in business administration and executive support across corporate and nonprofit sectors, with a strong focus on organizational coordination, communications, and leadership support. As Senior Department Assistant on Fordham University’s Rose Hill Campus, she supports senior leadership to facilitate key academic and administrative initiatives. Ordained in 2024, Rev. Evelyn also serves communities through faith-based leadership, community engagement, and advocacy.
Michael Lykaios Guerrero, Senior Academic Advisor, FCLC
Michael is from Austin, TX, and earned a bachelor's degree in international relations and a graduate degree in counseling. His higher education experiences began while working as a counseling intern at Texas State University. This work led Michael to become the first advising specialist for the School of Natural Sciences at St. Edward's University in Austin. He also worked with science students as the Director of STEM Advising and a success coach. Most recently, he has worked with undergraduate students as a Class Dean at Wesleyan University.
Michelle MacLeod, Senior Academic Advisor, FCLC
Michelle received her bachelor’s degree in human development and family studies from the University of Connecticut and her master’s degree in higher education and student affairs from New York University. Prior to joining the Fordham College Advising Center, she held a variety of roles at higher education institutions across New York City, including St. Joseph’s College, Pace University, and Pratt Institute.
Candace Mercado
Candace Mercado joined the Academic Advising team with over ten years of experience in higher education. She has held various positions at Fordham University since 2014. Candace has experience working with the Department of Education throughout the Bronx and has served as a clinician focusing on Trauma Systems Therapy with Family Services of Westchester’s Mental Health Clinic. Candace has a passion for the social work field and is one of the dedicated Field Instructors for the Advising Center. She holds a BS in Criminal Justice from Pace University, an MS in Criminal Justice from Iona College, an MSW from Fordham University, and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Administration and Supervision with Fordham’s Graduate School of Education. Candace is excited to be working with the Advising Center and continue to support students on their academic journey.
Salvatore John Mulé, Academic Advisor for Juniors, FCLC
Salvatore is a Long Island native with a strong commitment to advancing student success through holistic advising practices that empower students to achieve their academic and professional goals. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from SUNY Oswego and his Master of Science in Higher Education from Syracuse University. Coming with a background in academic advising, Salvatore previously served as the Pre-Health Programs Advisor at SUNY Old Westbury, where he supported students in navigating their academic pathways and preparing for professional opportunities. Outside of his professional work, Salvatore enjoys traveling, engaging with culture and the arts, and writing poetry.
Fredrick Newton, Senior Academic Advisor, FCRH
Frederick joined the Fordham College Advising Center with over 15+ years in Higher Education including teaching, academic advising, and student support. Prior to joining Fordham, Frederick taught Earth Science courses at Bronx Community College for 14 years and was a Senior STEM Academic Advisor at Borough of Manhattan Community College. He is passionate about helping students thrive both academically and personally. Fun fact: He loves traveling and enjoys watching the weather channel.
Bertha Peralta-Rodriguez, Senior Academic Advisor, FCLC
Bertha joins the Fordham College Advising team with over twenty years of experience in Higher Education, primarily in the area of academic advising. Bertha has worked with diverse student populations at The New School, Hunter College, and most recently at Baruch College. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Hunter College and she is also a Fordham alumnus, having earned a Master of Science in Education in Counseling. She is a native New Yorker, who loves reading, theater, and movies.
Daniel Prieto, Senior Academic Advisor, FCLC
Danny Prieto has over 10 years of Higher Education experience having worked within Graduate Advising and the Division of Student Affairs at New York University as well as within Graduate Advising and Enrollment Management at Columbia University. He holds a double Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and French Language & Literature from St. John’s University, a Master of Arts degree in Spanish Language & Literature from St. John’s University, a Master of Arts degree in Higher & Postsecondary Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Certificate in Professional Coaching from New York University.
Jumirna Alcober Ramirez, Academic Advisor, FCRH
Jumirna studied Health and Wellness plus a minor in coaching at Buffalo State University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science. While completing her undergraduate studies, she interned for Senator Kristen Gillibrand and LGBTQ+ Resource Center at Buffalo State. Jumirna later pursued a Masters of Arts in Organizational Leadership at Medaille University. While working on her masters degree Jumirna began her career in higher education as a Graduate Assistant for the Assistant VP of Academic Affairs then the Say Yes Program, supporting first-generation college students. Jumirna is a Washington Heights native and has a passion for community development.
Xiomara Rozon, Senior Academic Advisor, FCLC
Xiomara joins the Fordham College Advising team with over twenty years experience in Higher Education. Xiomara has worked with traditional and non-traditional adult learners from various backgrounds. She completed her undergraduate studies at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Xiomara is a Fordham Alumni from the Graduate School of Education where she earned her Masters degree. She is passionate about working with adult learners, and enjoys advising and instructing students. Xiomara’s advising career started in John Jay College and continued at Berkeley College. Born and raised in New York City, Xiomara is fluent in Spanish. She loves to travel with family and friends.
Caitlin Vasquez, Academic Advisor, FCRH
Caitlin is a Bronx native and lifelong New Yorker dedicated to expanding college access and supporting students through pivotal academic transitions. She completed her Bachelor’s in Psychology and Communications at Fordham University and attended Mercy University for her Master’s in School Counseling. Prior to joining the Fordham advising team, her experience in higher education includes being a Faculty Advisor Student Assistant (FASA) at Fordham University, a College Advisor at New York University, and a counselor for the Arthur O. Eve Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP) at Mercy University.
Rochelle Warner-Lopez, Senior Academic Advisor, FCRH
Rochelle has more than 20 years of experience working within higher education and K-12 settings. Prior to joining the Fordham College Advising Center, she worked as the retention and engagement specialist for the Accelerated Study in Associate Programs (ASAP) at Bronx Community College. As a student support advisor and assistant director of student central at DeVry College, she provided academic and financial aid advising. Prior to working in higher education, she worked in supplemental education at both Sylvan Learning Centers and SCORE! Educational Centers. She earned her bachelor's degree in history from St. Joseph’s College.
Nebiyat Woldemichael, Senior Academic Advisor, FCLC
Nebiyat joins Fordham College with over 5 years of experience in Higher Education. She worked as an ASAP Academic Advisor at LaGuardia Community College. Prior to her career in higher education, Nebiyat worked with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities for over 10 years. She began her career in International Affairs, developing and conducting conflict resolution and peacebuilding training programs for legislators in Africa, Canada, Europe and the US. Nebiyat received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Peace Studies from Chapman University, a Master’s degree in Social Work from Hunter College and a Master’s in International Affairs degree from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University.
