GRE Financial Aid

In addition to standard financial aid options (such as private and federal loans), GRE students are eligible to apply for the following funding opportunities:

Institutional Funding
(up to a 35% reduction)

  • Awards based on financial need
  • Tuition discount of up to 35%, excluding fees
  • Submission of a FAFSA application required
  • Requires full-time enrollment in any of the master’s, doctoral, or certificate programs*
  • Maintenance of Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards
  • Observance of and compliance with the University's Code of Conduct and other regulations, as well as external accreditation and professional regulation standards such as the satisfactory clinical and professional progress (SCPP) of the M.A. in pastoral mental health counseling program.

Category-based Tuition Waiver
(up to a 50% reduction)

  • For qualified faith-based leaders, church and congregational staff, and educators
  • Tuition discount of up to 50%, excluding fees
  • Submission of a letter of endorsement from the student’s employer or institutional leader on official stationary, verifying full-time affiliation, appointment or employment.
  • Requires full-time enrollment in any of the master’s, doctoral, or certificate programs*
  • Maintenance of Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards
  • Observance of and compliance with the University's Code of Conduct and other regulations, as well as external accreditation and professional regulation standards such as the satisfactory clinical and professional progress (SCPP) of the M.A. in pastoral mental health counseling program.

* To maintain full-time status, students must register for at least six (6) credits in either fall or spring semesters. Student financial aid will be rescinded if a student drops a class and no longer holds full-time status. Summer applicants may take three (3) credits, but must be full-time in either the preceding spring or subsequent fall semester.

Please Note:

  • The following categories are not covered by student financial aid: dissertation format review; dissertation qualifying paper; doctoral mentoring seminar; and maintenance of matriculation.

Application Process

Please Note:

  • Fall and spring semester applicants are required to register for at least six (6) credits before applying for GRE financial aid.
  • Summer applicants may take three (3) credits, but must be full-time in either the preceding spring or subsequent fall semester.
  • Returning students are encouraged to apply by May 15 to ensure funding availability.
