Although the Office for International Services supports all non-immigrant students at Fordham, we specialize in assisting students in F-1 and J-1 status. Our office provides guidance and resources to help you understand your visa requirements, maintain your status, and make the most of your experience.

If you continue your stay in the U.S. after graduation with your F-1 visa, there are some very important things to know and regulations you must follow in order to legally stay within the country.

As a newly admitted international student, one of your first steps is to obtain the appropriate immigration documents and apply for your U.S. visa.

If you are on an F-1 or J-1 visa, you must check-in with OIS within 10 days of your arrival at Fordham. Learn more here.

Maintaining your status
As an F-1 or J-1 student, it is your responsibility to maintain your legal immigration status while studying in the United States.
