Our Community Partners

The Center for Community Engaged Learning wishes to engage in asset-based partnership with our various communities. That is, rather than imagining our work to be isolated service, we wish to co-create unique approaches to questions of policy, scarcity, disenfranchisement, education, activism, and social justice. We will be able to best support Fordham and its courses and programs if we in turn also support our community partners, on whom we depend for so much.

Our Partners Help CCEL

When building relationships with those in the community, the center is committed to prioritizing the following engagements:

  • Faith organizations and neighborhood-based organizations that advance the priorities of CEL courses and faculty research
  • Schools, organizations, and apostolic works of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits) and the Catholic Church, particularly within the Archdiocese of New York
  • Schools, educational facilities, nonprofit and/or nongovernmental organizations that promote educational advancement, development, college access, etc.
