CMS Equipment & Resources

The CMS Department provides access to professional-grade production equipment to support your coursework and projects. This page outlines everything you need to know about accessing, checking out, and returning departmental equipment.

Equipment is offered by the CMS Department and not Fordham University or the Visual Arts department. All checkout policies and procedures are managed by the CMS Department.

Eligibility

Equipment is available to CMS majors, CMS minors, or students currently enrolled in a CMS course. You must meet at least one of these criteria to access departmental equipment.

Before requesting equipment, please review the checkout policies, request procedures, and available equipment listed below.

  • The department maintains an extensive inventory of cameras, audio recorders, lighting equipment, and accessories to support your production needs. Below is a summary of available equipment. For the complete inventory, view the full equipment spreadsheet.

Important: Many cameras and audio recorders require SD cards or MicroSD cards, which are not typically provided by the department. Please bring your own memory cards when checking out equipment.

  • Equipment tutorials and editing guides will be added here soon. Check back at the beginning of the spring semester for video tutorials on camera operation, audio recording, and post-production editing.
