Ranked among the top 5 undergraduate majors, Fordham’s Political Science program will prepare you to understand and navigate successfully the political processes and institutions that define and shape our increasingly complex and interdependent world. Our department offers a BA degree at the undergraduate level and an M.A. in Elections and Campaign Management.
Our program’s excellence rests on two pillars: our faculty and our majors.
Our faculty are active and engaged researchers, publishing work that examines some of the world’s most pressing international and national issues. Local, national, and global media seek out our faculty to provide insights on contemporary issues ranging from assessing congressional and presidential elections to the challenges of post-conflict transitions and international criminal justice.
In addition to cutting-edge research, our faculty are award-winning teachers and mentors, challenging our students to meet high standards and excel in their learning. Many also teach in related graduate programs, including International Political Economy and Development, Humanitarian Studies, and Urban Studies.
Our majors are also top-notch. Many compete successfully for prestigious fellowships, entry into highly competitive graduate schools and law schools, and others begin careers in the public and private sector, or with non-governmental or inter-governmental organizations.
