Kimberly Scott holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from James Madison University.
Kimberly Scott is President of ConklinScott, a national Political Consulting Firm. A veteran of over fifty United States House and Senate campaigns, she has more than fifteen years of experience in working with the national political community and Capitol Hill.
As Senior Finance Advisor for the Democratic National Committee during the 1996 election year, Kim focused on Presidential events nationwide, national labor and special projects related to the DNC, the Democratic Convention in Chicago and the Presidential campaign.Prior to joining the DNC she served for seven years as President of Kimberly Scott & Associates, a political consulting firm specializing in national and in-district fundraising, political strategy, legislative research and analysis for Democratic candidates. The firm was noted for its work with pro-choice, open seat and challenger races, as well as minority candidates.
Kim has served as a seminar speaker on fundraising and campaigns for Campaigns and Elections Magazine, The Democratic National Committee, The National Democratic Institute (Ukraine and US), The Bliss Institute of Applied Politics, Yale University, New York University, American University, GWU Graduate School of Political Management, The Women's Campaign Fund, The National Women's Political Caucus, The Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies and other organizations.
She was voted one of politics "Rising Stars" in Campaigns & Elections' May 1994 national survey and was profiled in July of 1993 as one of "74 Women Who Are Changing American Politics". The article was based on a nationwide survey of Members of Congress, state party chairs, political consultants and organization heads.
Kim serves on the Advisory Boards of New York University's Political Management Program and the Honorary Advisory Council of the Women's Information Network. She is past elected President of the Mid-Atlantic Board of the American Association of Political Consultants and the national Board of Campaigns & Elections Magazine. Kim is a past recipient of WIN's annual award honoring outstanding dedication to the professional advancement of young women.
Prior to entering the fundraising field, Kim worked for two years with Doak, Shrum & Associates, a national political media and consulting firm. Previously she served as a Legislative Correspondent and Researcher on Capitol Hill. She is a native Washingtonian.
