Standard Software

Fordham University offers free, university-licensed software to students, faculty, and staff. Additional software is available for use on campus, at the Faculty Technology Centers and student computer labs, as well as virtually, via Apporto Virtual Labs. Workshops on supported software are offered throughout the semester for faculty and students.

For some software downloads, authentication with a Fordham AccessIT ID and password is required.

G Suite from Google is a suite of cloud computing, productivity and collaboration tools, software and products. It includes a set of integrated apps, such as Gmail, Calendar, Drive, and Docs, that work together seamlessly.

We support the latest version of Google Chrome. Normally, Chrome updates automatically when a new version becomes available. If you don't have the latest version, you can update Chrome yourself.

 

MATLAB

MATLAB is a high-performance language for technical computing. It integrates computation, visualization, and programming in an easy-to-use environment where problems and solutions are expressed in familiar mathematical notation. Typical uses include data analysis, exploration, and visualization.

MS Office 365 Online is the cloud-based version of Microsoft Office that includes Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Office 365 in the cloud gives you the ability to access, create, and edit documents from multiple devices and locations, from anywhere in the world.

The Qualtrics Research Suite is a web-based survey tool that Fordham IT provides for free to all Fordham students, faculty, and staff. This robust and professional survey system, allows users to easily design and implement surveys and provides many tools to evaluate the results. 

Qualtrics is an internet-based software that works on PCs & Macs and is supported on Firefox, Safari, and Chrome.

 

SPSS/SAS

SPSS/SAS - SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) is an analytical tool and SAS (Statistical Analysis System) is a programming language that comes with SPSS. Both of these statistics tools are helpful in statistical analysis, business growth, and to find out the variance in actual work

Security and Risk Management Standards Software

Bitedefender Antivirus Download Information 

CrowdStrike Falcon Endpoint Protection 

CrowdStrike Falcon Endpoint Protection is an early detection and response (EDR) tool that detects malware, viruses, and many other kinds of malicious activity. EDR is different from antivirus as it assesses endpoint processes to detect, investigate, and remediate security incidents. This protects the endpoint from a variety of malicious activity activities that a traditional antivirus might not recognize.

 
Besides the disk space required for the installation ( < 100MB), CrowdStrike has no specific hardware requirements. Essentially, the sensor will function on any hardware that can run the supported OS.

LANDESK Agent

LANDESK Agent is an asset management software tool used to remotely inventory and manage University devices. It can report on installed software and hardware, allowing Fordham IT to provide remote assistance, and install security patches to ensure their integrity and preserve proper functioning.

 

While LANDesk doesn't specifically mandate certain minimum system requirements in terms of CPU and RAM, as long as the device in question has sufficient system requirements to operate the host OS successfully, it will have sufficient system requirements to operate the LANDesk Agent.

LogMeIn

LogMeIn is remote control software which that enables you to have a secure desktop connection to a device on campus.

McAfee Full Disk Encryption

McAfee Full Disk Encryption provides full-disk encryption for University-issued desktops, laptops, and removable media encryption for items such as thumb drives. Encryption ensures data confidentiality and integrity on the device as only the owner of the device can access the locally stored data. If the device is lost or stolen, encryption safeguards the locally stored data from unauthorized access.

Pulse Secure Access Agent provides secure access via the Virtual Private Network (VPN) to many of the University's password-protected resources when you are off-campus and cannot use Fordham's on-campus secure network.

Qualys Cloud Agent

Qualys Cloud Agent for vulnerability management eliminates the need for remote assessments. The agent does not require credentials for gaining access to systems as it runs locally with the right privileges to do its work. It provides outbound encrypted communications regarding all vulnerabilities and configuration issues

Spirion (formerly known as Identity Finder)

Spirion (formerly known as Identity Finder) is a security tool used at Fordham University to protect all sensitive data pertaining to the entire University community. Spirion searches files to pinpoint vulnerable data, such as Social Security numbers, credit card numbers, and passwords. When sensitive data is discovered, Spirion provides options to manage and protect it.
