University Events Calendar

Overview

Fordham’s University-wide events calendar provides clear, accurate, and accessible information about events for our entire campus community. Before an event can be promoted in any campus-wide communication channel, it must be submitted through the calendar’s Event Submission Form. Please allow 5 days for event postings.

Take a moment to read the following instructions on how to submit your events. You can also email [email protected] with specific questions.

How to Submit an Event

Calendar Submission Best Practices

Why We Recommend Event Submissions Via the Calendar

  • Consistency and Accessibility: Uploading your events directly to the calendar ensures that events are uniformly posted and accessible on the University Calendar, the Fordham App, and other communication channels.
  • Verification and Accuracy: The Event Submission Form is only available to those with an active Fordham email account. Events are then reviewed, edited, and added to the calendar by calendar administrators in keeping with Fordham’s editorial guidelines.
  • Promotion and Planning: Posting events to the calendar will attract attendees, make your event easy to share across platforms, and let others plan around your event.

Events That Belong on the University Calendar

Events organized by Fordham employees that are open to all students, employees, or the public must be submitted via the Event Submission Form.

Examples include:

  • Community-Wide Events: Events inviting large groups of students, faculty, staff, and/or alumni (e.g., Commencement, Orientation, Family Weekend, Employee Town Halls).
  • External-Facing Events: Events open to the general public or outside communities (e.g., major lectures, professional conferences, concerts, exhibitions, athletic events).
  • Academic and Administrative Deadlines: Official dates that impact the entire community (e.g., registration periods, holiday closures, semester start/end dates, exam conflict deadlines).
  • Major Resource Reservations: All Fordham-affiliated events that require the reservation of large gathering spaces via 25Live (e.g., Pope Auditorium, McShane Center Great Hall, University Church).

Events That Do Not Belong on the University Calendar

The following activities are not appropriate for the University Calendar:

  • Private administrative or staff meetings (e.g., weekly department check-ins).
  • Meetings or rehearsals strictly limited to members of a single student club or organization. (These will be included at a later date.)
  • Study sessions, office hours, or single-course review sessions.
  • Reservation requests or Save-the-Date announcements that do not yet have a finalized, approved 25Live confirmation.
  • Events organized by individual alumni members. Those events can be shared via a class note here.
  • Events organized solely by external partners. If you are an outside organization who wishes to partner with Fordham on an event, please contact Media Relations at [email protected].
