Courses and Degree Programs with an Environmental Focus

Fordham provides courses in ethical, economic, and scientific principles that challenges and offers our students an opportunity to engage in environmental education and research. Sustainability is brought to life in the classroom and students are encouraged to explore through a variety of lenses the impact that environmental degradation is having on our planet and the human family.

Undergraduate Programs Graduate Programs

The Louis Calder Center is the Biological Field Station of Fordham University. The field station comprises 113 forested acres with a variety of ecosystems and communities available for study. The laboratories at the Calder Center are well equipped for ecological studies and support research as well as graduate and undergraduate educational programs on a wide variety of topics.

Social Innovation Collaboratory

The Social Innovation Collaboratory is a network of Fordham University students, faculty, administrators, alumni and community members, working together to promote social innovation for the achievement of social justice, social entrepreneurship, and environmental sustainability.

Consortium on Social Justice

The Consortium on Social Justice aims to facilitate information sharing among the wide range of University members working on social justice concerns, including research, programmatic, academic, and service activities.

Art and Action on the Bronx River is a Fordham course created with support from the University’s Center for Community Engaged Learning and taught in partnership with the Bronx River Alliance, a nonprofit established 20 years ago to help revitalize and protect the river and its surrounding communities.

Bronx Science Consortium

Fordham University and four of our neighbors in the Bronx have created a new model for scientific research, education, and community engagement known as the Bronx Science Consortium.
