Eric Oermann

Eric Oermann is an associate professor of neurosurgery, radiology, and data science at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, where he specializes in tumors of the brain and spine. His research addresses the application of artificial intelligence to clinical care, including NYUTron, a clinical language model that predicts hospital readmission and other health outcomes from electronic health records, as well as questions of data-efficient machine learning, algorithmic generalizability, and biomedical imaging. Educated in the Jesuit tradition at the University of Detroit Jesuit High School and Academy, Georgetown University, and the Georgetown University School of Medicine, he completed his neurosurgical residency at Mount Sinai.
