Rebecca Peters

Rebecca PetersRebecca Peters was born in Manhattan, raised in the suburbs of New Jersey and found her way back to New York City by way of Fordham University. She earned a four year basketball scholarship and finished her career with 1000 points and as a Captain during her senior year. She graduated from Fordham twice with a BS in Public Accountancy and with a MS Accounting. After interning at Ernst and Young, she obtained a full time position at EY in their audit practice serving financial services clients. After two years in public accounting, Becky worked as a Project Accountant for a real estate development company based in Brooklyn and mainly worked on the Empire Outlets project in Staten Island. Since 2016, she has supported charter schools with their day to day finances. This work began initially as a consultant, now her efforts are focused at NYC Charter School of the Arts, an arts integrated middle school located in the Financial District. In addition to working with charter schools, she also works with small businesses and entrepreneurs and helps them with their bookkeeping and preparation of their financial statements. In the Fall of 2018, she began her teaching career at Fordham by leading a course on Diversity and Inclusiveness at the Gabelli School of the Business. Additionally, She hosts a monthly meetup called Make Your Money Work, where like minded individuals come to share ideas about investing, budgeting, tax planning, economy, etc. She has a thirst for knowledge and loves to travel.
