Robert Roussey

 

Robert Rousseyrecently retired as a professor of clinical accounting in the Leventhal School of Accounting, Marshall School of Business, at the University of Southern California. He retired as a partner of Arthur Andersen Worldwide in 1992. During his 35-year association with that firm, he served in its offices in New York, Tokyo, and Chicago as an engagement partner, and in Chicago as a worldwide director of auditing policies and procedures. Prior to joining USC in 1992, he had also served on the faculty of the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.

Roussey is a past chair of the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (previously known as the International Auditing Practices Committee) of the International Federation of Accountants, serving in that position for five years. He was a member of the board since 1991, and he has been involved with the activities of the federation since 1980. Roussey was awarded a special recognition award by the AICPA in 2004 for his work in the international auditing area.

In addition to his service on the Gabelli School’s Advisory Board, Roussey was on the board of trustees/directors of both the IT Governance Institute and Information Systems Audit and Control Association, and he is a past international president of both organizations. He has served on the Consultative Advisory Group to the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board of the International Federation of Accountants from 2000 to 2011.

Roussey previously served as a member of the AICPA's Auditing Standards Board, was vice chair from practice of the Auditing Section of the American Accounting Association, received the section's distinguished service in auditing award, was a member of the publications committee of the association, was a member of the Board of Research Advisors of the Institute of Internal Auditors, was a member of the COSO Monitoring Task Force, and has been involved with numerous other professional activities.

Roussey currently serves on or has been a member of the following editorial boards: Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory; the Journal of International Accounting Auditing and Taxation; the Journal of International Accounting; Advances in Accounting; and the advisory board of the International Journal of Auditing. He is listed in the current editions of Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in America, and Who's Who in the West.
