  • Matthew Caulfield is an assistant professor in the Law & Ethics Area. He received his bachelor’s, master's, and doctoral education at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a Platt Fellow in Business Ethics. His current research revolves around how to structure institutions to advance corporate social responsibility, moral corporate governance, and moral entrepreneurial markets, using insights from moral and political philosophy, as well as organizational theory and nonmarket strategy. Caulfield's work has been published in journals such as the Academy of Management ReviewJournal of Business Ethics, and Georgetown Journal of Law & Public Policy. He is a member of the editorial review board of the Academy of Management Review and recently joined the editorial board of the Journal of Business Ethics. He also currently serves as Media Director for the Society for Business Ethics. His public-facing research has been profiled in Politico, and he has written op-eds or posts in media vehicles such as The Washington Post, Harvard Law School Forum on Corporate Governance, and Columbia Law School Blue Sky Blog.
