Jeanine Ramirez ’92

Jeanine Ramirez is an award-winning journalist and media consultant. She provided news coverage as an anchor and reporter in New York City for more than two decades. After television jobs at WPIX-TV and KWES-TV, Ramirez spent much of her career at NY1 News. She covered the aftermath of September 11, the devastation from Superstorm Sandy, the construction of Barclays Center, and the revitalization in Coney Island. She was a weekend anchor and the lead reporter on many Brooklyn-based and Latino issues.

In 2002, Ramirez had the honor of marching as one of the Grand Marshals in the National Puerto Rican Day Parade up Fifth Avenue. She was listed among the Brooklyn Power 100 by City & State in both 2019 and 2020. Ramirez also received numerous recognitions for her work, including five Emmy nominations and awards from the National Hispanic Media Coalition, New York Press Club, and El Diario/La Prensa, as well as honors from elected officials, schools, organized labor, and community groups.
