The Core Revision Process
Our reconceptualization of the core focuses on the power of interdisciplinary, collaborative learning experiences to educate students so they may navigate a diverse society and bring intelligence, creativity, and compassion to address local and global problems.
In accordance with the University Statutes, the University Faculty “has primary responsibility for such fundamental areas as curriculum, subject matter, and methods of instruction.” (§4-01.02), the core revision process was led by faculty at each stage. Rooted in our Jesuit tradition and the opportunities afforded by our New York City location, it is designed to cultivate a spirit of innovation and collaboration among the faculty of all undergraduate schools.
