Gülay Siouzios

As Director of Labor and Employee Relations, Gülay provides the Fordham Community with sound recommendations regarding labor and employee relations matters, ensures positive labor/management relationships and aids in the interpretation of the Collective Bargaining Agreements and Administrative Policies.

Additionally, she participates in contract negotiations, drafts proposals, strategizes with the Labor Team and negotiates with the unions, and conducts workplace investigations following the University Policy and Procedures against Harassment, Discrimination and Retaliation in Employment, the University Code of Conduct and other relevant employment policies.

Gülay is responsible for the University’s Reasonable Workplace Accommodations process and oversees the University’s initial probation/introductory process, including recommendations for performance counseling. She takes the lead in the development of software needs that will aid the employment and labor/employee relations area and is responsible for the creation and implementation of HR-related processes, practices, policies and guidelines.

As the HR Liaison for Athletics, she will assist the department with HR policies, compliance, onboarding and off-boarding procedures, trainings, etc.

Gülay joined Fordham University’s Office of Human Resources Management in 2005 as a Human Resources Generalist, and made a smooth transition to her true passion of Labor and Employee Relations in 2015.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources and a Master’s degree in Psychology and Human Resources. She received an Advanced Certificate in Employee Relations and Investigations from Cornell University and is a Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional. Gülay is currently working towards an MSL in Compliance from the Fordham University School of Law.

When Gülay is not working long hours or studying for her law classes, she is gushing over her sweet Bernedoodle, Sparky to anyone who will listen.
