John Rose, SJ

John Rose, SJ, is director of the Xavier Institute of Engineering (XIE) in Mumbai. One of only three Jesuit engineering colleges in India, XIE offers programs in computer engineering, information technology, and electronics. He also serves as coordinator of higher education for the Bombay Jesuit Province. He holds a master’s in physics from Loyola College, Chennai, and both an MS in computer engineering and a PhD in electrical engineering from Santa Clara University. His research areas include variational thermodynamic methods, semiconductor devices, embedded systems, and deep learning.
