Tad Gonsalves, SJ

Tad Gonsalves, SJ, is a professor in the Department of Information and Communication Sciences and faculty of science and technology at Sophia University in Tokyo. He directs the Gonsalves AI Lab, which pursues research on deep learning applications, autonomous robotics, nature-inspired meta-heuristic algorithms, and large language models. He holds a BSc in theoretical physics and an MSc in astrophysics from Pune University in India, as well as a PhD in intelligent systems from Sophia University. His grand vision is developing an internal ethical conscience for AI, trained with human wisdom.
