Fordham's Global Symposium on Sports & Society united some of the world’s most iconic names in athletics, academics, and journalism to share a global perspective on the realities of anti-Semitism, its interface with sports, and strategies for changing the playing field. Presented in conjunction with Chelsea Football Club and New England Revolution’s Final Whistle on Hate campaign.

In a daylong conference organized by the School of Professional and Continuing Studies (PCS), speakers and panelists examined the complex and timely topic of anti-Semitism in the sports world. Players, coaches, managers, journalists, and academics discussed anti-Semitic prejudice espoused on the field, in the pool, and on the track. Experts weighed in on how sports stadiums can be fertile ground for hate groups, but also how teams and players can be an influence for good well beyond the arena.

This event featured opening remarks from Bruce Buck, chairman of Chelsea Football Club, along with keynote speakers Ross Greenburg, former president of HBO Sports; Ken Jacobson, deputy national director of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL); and Ron Mix, retired Hall of Fame NFL offensive tackle.
