Honors AJCU Conference Trip

Each year, every Jesuit college and university is invited to participate in the AJCU Honors Program Conference. Program directors, administrators, faculty, and students gather to discuss best practices and share innovations. From these conversations, the AJCU members have created a series of articles characterizing collegiate honors programs, particularly the distinct hallmarks of a Jesuit honors program. Fordham Honors typically takes two to four students to the conference each year. Recent conferences have been held in Spokane, Washington; New Orleans, Louisiana; and Omaha, Nebraska.

Annual Honors Events

  • The traditional Honors Program start to the school year, the Fall Fest is an opportunity to meet new students and re-establish old connections.

  • As the fall semester comes to a close, students and faculty celebrate the spirit of the season over a variety of treats from famous Bronx bakeries.

  • Every fall, seniors choose the faculty member they deem to have been most influential in their Honors experience. In the spring, that faculty member gives the lecture they would give if it were their last lecture ever

  • Faculty and students celebrate the end of the year and the senior class at a dinner banquet in late spring. Seniors have an opportunity to share their words of wisdom and favorite memories of the Honors Program before they head off to post-grad adventures.
