Bridget Thorenson
Adjunct Professor of Communications
Bridget Thoreson is a book publishing professional with nearly 15 years of experience. In addition to teaching at the Gabelli School of Business, she is the director of client publisher operations at Simon & Schuster. Prior to that, she spent a decade at independent publisher Ulysses Press, most recently as vice president of operations and marketing. Her career has spanned operations and strategy, marketing, and editorial work for indie presses as well as Big 5 publishers. In 2021, she co-founded Pacific & Court, a boutique book marketing and publicity firm.
Thoreson has an undergraduate degree from Fordham College at Rose Hill in Communications and Media Studies (Journalism) and Sociology. She also holds an M.B.A. from Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business. She is an active member of Women’s Media Group, sat on the executive board of New York Women in Communications, and is a regular instructor at NYU’s Summer Publishing Institute. In addition to the hundreds of books Thorenson has acquired and published, she has written three cookbooks of her own, including one USA Today Bestseller.
