Study Abroad: Costs and Funding

Students who study abroad for one semester or more receive a bill from Fordham University's Office of Student Accounts, which in most cases covers the cost of tuition, housing, orientation services, and insurance.

"Out of Pocket" expenses, such as transportation, airfare, books, meals, visa fees, and entertainment are generally not included in this bill.

Cost Estimates for 2024-2025 Semester

  • London and Granada

    Tuition: Tuition is the same as Fordham University per-semester tuition

    *Students enrolled in the School of Professional and Continuing Studies will pay the Full-Time Tuition rate for FCLC, FCRH, and GSB.

    Housing: Fordham University will bill participants a fee that will cover the cost of housing during the program

    Program Fee: Varies by program, but will typically cover costs for on-site orientation, program-arranged cultural and social activities, program-arranged trips, international health insurance, most meals (Granada only), advising, and internship placement services.

    Other Fees: $680 Study Abroad Fee, General Fee, Technology Fee, and Fordham Study Abroad Application Fee ($140 or $200) will be charged to participants

    * Fordham in Granada- Program fee includes most meals, international insurance, orientation, co-curricular trips and activities

    *Fordham in London- Program fee includes international insurance, orientation, co-curricular activities, and one program trip

    ** Students accepted into the Fordham London program will participate in a housing selection process (during summer for fall programs and during fall for spring programs), indicating their preferences on their semester. Students will be provided information on all housing options and costs in advance of selection. Students participating in the Fordham in London: Liberal Arts program may be required to stay beyond set programme dates and will be billed a supplemental housing fee where applicable.

    Housing and other personal and travel expenses: Students pay for housing directly to their host institution or landlord. Fordham University will not bill you the cost of housing, travel, visa, or other personal expenses.

    2024-2025 Estimated Billed Cost per semester: $33,256 ($31,495 + $680 + $500 + $281 + $300)

    Housing:  An additional fee will be charged to cover non-academic costs such as housing, orientation, student activities, etc. Students are required to live in program-arranged housing. Exceptions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

    Other Fees: $680 Study Abroad Fee, International Insurance Fee ($400 for Fall / $500 for Spring), General Fee, Technology Fee, and Fordham Study Abroad Application Fee ($140 or $200) will be charged to participants.

    Global Seminars

    Tuition for a global seminar is included in semester tuition charged by Student Accounts. An additional program fee will be charged to your student account.

    Summer Study Abroad Classes

    Tuition: Fordham Abroad Course Tuition is the same as Fordham per-credit summer tuition. For a course taking place in the Summer, tuition will be billed per credit in addition to the "Program Fee" indicated below.
    Housing: Fordham University will bill participants a Program Fee that will cover the cost of housing during the program where indicated.
    Other Fees: A $60 or $85 Fordham Study Abroad Application Fee will be charged to participants

  • Students who opt to enroll in a short-term study abroad program that is not administered by Fordham University pay all fees directly to their host institutions except the International Insurance Fee ($80 per month).

    Tuition: Tuition is paid directly to host institution

    Housing: Housing is paid directly to host institution

    Other Fees: A $85 Fordham Study Abroad Application Fee will be charged to participants

    International Insurance Fee ($80 per month) *Please note programs that are less than one month in length will incur a $80 insurance fee and programs between 4 and 8 weeks will incur a $160 insurance fee charge.
