Yilu Zhou, Ph.D.
Program Director, Associate Professor
Dr. Zhou’s research interests include business intelligence, web/text/data mining, multilingual knowledge discovery, and human-computer interaction. Specifically, she investigates and explores computational, intelligent, and automatic ways to discover interesting and useful patterns in news articles, websites, forums, and other social media. At the Gabelli School of Business, she teaches Web Analytics and Text Analytics.
Before coming to the Gabelli School, Dr. Zhou was an assistant professor at George Washington University. She has published work in academic journals, including the Journal of the American Society for Information Science and Technology, IEEE Intelligent Systems, and Decision Support Systems. She has taught courses related to business intelligence, data management, business programming, database and data warehousing, and business programming.
She received her B.S. in computer science from Shanghai Jiaotong University in Shanghai, China, and her Ph.D. in management information systems from the University of Arizona, where she also was a research associate at the Artificial Intelligence Lab.
Aditya Saharia, Ph.D.
Associate Professor
Dr. Saharia teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in IT strategy, IT project management, e-commerce, and enterprise integration. He entered the field of information systems after beginning his career in theoretical physics.
Dr. Saharia's research focuses on information-systems strategy, database theory, information economics, ERP systems, and service-center management. His projects include query optimization and query reuse in data-warehousing systems, IT and business alignment, IT integration in mergers and acquisitions, incentive-compatible contracts and quality in outsourcing contracts, and the effects of ERP adoption on internal audit function.
Before coming to the Gabelli School, Dr. Saharia served on the graduate faculty at the business schools of the University of Washington and University of Illinois, Chicago, where he supervised Ph.D. candidates.
Leading journals that have published Dr. Saharia's work include IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering, ACM Transactions on Database Systems, Information Systems Research, Decision Support Systems, and Journal of Management Information Systems. Before making the academic transition from physics to information systems, Dr. Saharia was published in leading journals in theoretical physics, including Physical Review, Nuclear Physics, and Physics Letters.
Dr. Saharia serves on the boards of several for-profit and nonprofit organizations.
He earned his master’s degree at the University of Rochester and his Ph.D. at Carnegie Mellon University.
Evan Katsamakas, Ph.D.
Associate Professor, Associate Director of the Center for Digital Transformation
Dr. Katsamakas specializes in the business and economic impact of digital technologies, focusing on digital strategy, digital transformation, networks and platforms, and open innovation. He teaches a variety of graduate and undergraduate business courses, including E-Business Strategies and Applications, Cloud Computing, Tech Startups, Systems Development, and Systems Analysis and Design.
Dr. Katsamakas' research interests include economics and game theory modeling, econometrics, and dynamic simulation of complex systems. His work has appeared in Management Science, Journal of MIS, System Dynamics Review, International Journal of Medical Informatics, and other major academic journals, conference proceedings and books. He served as guest editor of the fall 2008 System Dynamics Review special issue on the dynamics of information systems. He received his bachelor’s degree in computer science and engineering from the University of Patras, Greece; his MSc from the London School of Economics; and his MPhil and Ph.D. from the Stern School of Business, NYU.
Robert Chiang, Ph.D.
Associate Professor, Area Chair
Dr. Chiang's research interests include software process improvement, information-systems economics, and e-commerce design. His articles have appeared in leading journals such as Information System Research, Operations Research, IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, and INFORMS Journal on Computing.
His consulting experience spans business process re-engineering, project/program management, requirements management, organizational change enablement, and system development methodology improvement. His clients have included leading global and U.S. companies in the financial, healthcare, transportation, and energy industries.
Prior to joining the Gabelli School of Business faculty, Dr. Chiang was an assistant professor at the University of Connecticut School of Business and a manager at Accenture.
He received his B.S. in engineering science from National Cheng-Kung University in Taiwan, an M.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California, an M.S. in computer science from the University of Southern California, and a Ph.D. in information systems from the University of Washington.
W. “RP” Raghupathi, Ph.D., L.L.M.
Professor
Dr. Raghupathi is a professor of information systems and program director of the Master of Science in Business Analytics. He's also the director of Fordham University’s Center for Digital Transformation and runs the Gabelli School of Business Innovation Lab.
Dr. Raghupathi’s current teaching and research interests include analytics applied to financial technologies, healthcare, sustainability, and risk, as well as big data analytics and artificial intelligence methods. He has published more than 50 refereed journal articles, including several in the analytics field. He is co-editor for North America of the International Journal of Healthcare Information Systems and Informatics.
Prior to joining the Gabelli School of Business faculty, Dr. Raghupathi taught for many years at California State University, Chico. He received his bachelor of commerce and bachelor of law degrees from Osmania University (India), a master of commerce degree from Sri Venkateswara University (India), an M.B.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Texas (Arlington), and an LLM in intellectual property in information technology from Fordham University. He serves on the advisory board of Self Care Catalysts.
