Advanced Placement Institutes at GSE
IMPORTANT NOTE: Because of COVID-19 and our broader concern for the wellbeing of our campus community, all AP® Summer Institute sessions will be held remotely for the Summer 2021. There will be NO face-to-face summer sessions here at Fordham.
The Graduate School of Education at Fordham University offers summer institutes VIRTUALLY for teachers of Advanced Placement® high school courses.
- All institutes are taught by experienced teachers of AP® and are endorsed by the College Board®.
- Three graduate credits are available per institute.
In order to register, you will be required to create or log into your personal College Board® account via CVENT. Click on the links below to access and register for the dates that interest you. The registration links are organized by session dates. Registration can also be completed via College Board's AP® Central Professional Development Event Calendar.
Registration for Scholarship Recipients
All College Board® APSI scholarship recipients must register as scholarship recipients to be eligible to use scholarship funds. This is a payment option when participants register on CVENT.
The teacher needs to confirm with the College Board® that they accept the scholarship and submit a completed W-9 form to the College Board® for taxes as they specified. College Board® will then issue a confirmation awardee email to the recipient. Otherwise, the scholarship is not awarded. Recipients should forward the email confirmation from the College Board® APSI Director Matthew A. Sawh, firstname.lastname@example.org, for processing within Fordham.
Summer Shipping Addresses for Course Materials*
It is the responsibility of the participant to email APInstitutes@fordham.edu with their name, name of their course(s) and preferred shipping address.
Reminder: Please send the address for the week(s) in which you will be participating. Specifically, if you will be away from your home during your institute week(s) in the summer, please provide that address.
*PLEASE NOTE: Any registrant for an APSI who registers for a session after April 22, 2021 will receive exclusively electronic course materials. This ensures each participant will be able to receive the materials in advance of their sessions - enabling all participants to hit the ground running. All international registrants will receive electronic materials.

If a registrant is unable to attend an institute, the registrant or their representatives must contact the Fordham University AP® Institutes staff no later than a week before the institute's start date to process the cancellation (9 a.m. Monday EST).
For the 2021 institutes, the dates are as follows:
• Week 1: Monday, June 21, 2021
• Week 2: Monday, June 28, 2021 (due to the July 4th holiday]
• Week 3: Monday, July 5, 2021
• Capstone Week: Monday, July 19, 2021
Cancellations which occur less than one month before the start of a summer session will be honored MINUS the cost of the College Board’s Participant Fee ($70). This cost covers a host of ancillary participation matters and also entitles the participant to receive a hard-copy course bundle at their home.
How to Cancel
To cancel, please send an email to APInstitutes@fordham.edu. Cancelling requires withdrawing from the course through the University. Thus, it is a process that takes time to complete. This means that all documentation to withdraw must have been submitted to the relevant University department with sufficient lead time as outlined above.
Please note that cancellations are accepted only by e-mail for documentation purposes, although an AP® team member is happy to assist over the phone with any questions.
If a cancellation request is received past the aforementioned deadlines, the registrant may be held responsible for a portion of the cost of the institute (if not the full tuition) and will need to remit payment to Fordham University. If you don't attend the Institute AND don't withdraw, you're NOT entitled to any refund.
Our policy is based on cancellation date:
Cancellation and withdrawal prior to Institute start date - Refund = 100% of payment
Cancellation and withdrawal by first day of Institute - Refund = 40% of payment
Cancellation and withdrawal thereafter - Refund = 0% of payment
