About Responsible Business Coalition

Who We Are.

Executives. Educators. Researchers. Non-profit leaders. The Responsible Business Coalition (RBC) is a pioneering network that galvanizes them for the greater good. We work collectively to redesign business as a sustainable force for prosperity. Our shared vision and commitment is to improve the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) impact of industries worldwide and contribute to the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

As a hub for collaboration that factors in people, planet, and profit, we ensure the development of economic systems and drive values-based education—all the while enforcing our core principles with dignity, compassion, and courage:

  • System innovation that delivers collaborative approaches to complex challenges
  • Regeneration of soil, forests, and watersheds through proactive business measures
  • Inclusion and diversity to foster an environment in which different experiences, perspectives, and cultures are recognized and respected

Launched at the university’s centennial anniversary, the RBC underscores the Gabelli School’s positioning as the flagship institution for responsible business strategy— furthering 100 years of business education and research to develop change-agents and critical thinkers.

This transformational network will strengthen and integrate ties to business, ESG research, and curricula to accelerate the global impact of the Gabelli School and Fordham’s Jesuit education for the years to come.

What we do

Sparking positive change for the world of modern business is no small task. Which is why the Responsible Business Coalition's dedicated team knows the importance of every push forward. Our tireless strides towards industry-wide solutions start with evaluation, push into collaboration, and result in mutually beneficial opportunities. Here’s a breakdown of how we get there:

Catalytic convenings

Convene CEOs and stakeholder groups to develop precompetitive relationships, dissect their challenges, research solutions, and work collectively to deliver tactical executions. We work across the value chains of industries, coordinating with leadership teams to integrate business positive solutions to environmental, social and governance issues.

Educational advancement

Leverage the knowledge, understanding, and solutions obtained through each RBC coalition to benefit students and inform curricula across the Gabelli School. Evolutions in business, management practice, and policy all become integrated in the coursework. We continually advance the students’ academic experience and future ability to drive holistic change, bridging external relationships to support internship, career-track assistance, and job placement.

Research

Develop opportunities for scholarly research and thought leadership relevant to the issues prioritized by RBC’s coalitions—all with the goal of inspiring scientific research and development of new knowledge.

Partnerships

Support collaborative organizations working toward common goals. These mutually beneficial partnerships inform our work, offer guidance to coalition stakeholders, and make it far more possible to advance our mission.

Events

Shed light on important issues by hosting educational events, while also extending the Gabelli School name across industries through affiliation, faculty engagement, speaker and moderating roles, and other marketing communication.

Industries we advance.
