About John

John assists with the development and implementation of Fordham’s mentoring programs, experiential-learning opportunities, and other strategic initiatives related to student success.  He also provides career-advising services to undergraduate students, graduate students, and alumni.

An alumnus of Fordham College at Rose Hill, John returned to Fordham after practicing law and working in executive search.  This experience gives him unique insights into long-term career planning, as well as into candidate positioning within a given job market.

With this perspective, John is able to work closely with students and alumni to help them evaluate their unique skills and goals, design frameworks for making strategic career decisions (including whether to pursue advanced degrees or credentials), and craft strong applications and interview presentations.  Ultimately, he hopes to empower fellow Rams in building successful and rewarding careers.

What's something rewarding about John's role at the Career Center?

"One of the most rewarding things in my current role is when a student or alum leaves a meeting with me feeling more confident than they were going in.  Sometimes, it takes a second person to walk through your professional experience for you to realize that you've achieved and can offer a new employer so much more than you had initially realized – or gave yourself credit for in your drafted resume.  Job searches and career transitions require self-assuredness, and it's so rewarding to play a small part in helping instill that in others."
