R. Michael Moran

Mike Moran is a real estate professional in New York City and in the Hamptons/Long Island, NY at Douglas Elliman Real Estate.  Moran, who is a CPA, has previously worked in the not-for-profit sector as a NYC independent school CFO and as an advisor to not-for-profits, high net worth individuals, and family offices.

Moran has extensive not-for-profit experience and has previously served as a trustee at God’s Love We Deliver, a NY organization that provides meals to people with serious illnesses, the Dwight Englewood School, and the West Side Montessori School, where he was a longtime trustee prior to becoming the school’s CFO.  Prior to focusing on residential real estate and not-for-profits, Moran accumulated a diverse financial management background in public accounting at PWC, commercial lending/loan restructuring at JP Morgan Chase, and in a variety of executive roles in New York, London, and Hong Kong at Sotheby’s Fine Art Auctions. 

After growing up in Northern New Jersey, Moran majored in economics/accounting at the College of the Holy Cross and subsequently attended Columbia University and NYU, for post-graduate work. Moran lives in New York City and Miami Beach, FL with his husband, Jeffrey Gates. They have a son, Skyler G. Moran, who graduated from Fordham’s Gabelli School of Business in 2026.
