The Gabelli School Ph.D. program is active in sponsoring large-scale research conferences on an annual basis.
The PhD Colloquium
The Ph.D. Colloquium is a global interdisciplinary academic initiative organized by the Gabelli School Ph.D. program in conjunction with Hong Kong Polytechnic University, National University of Singapore, the Stern School at NYU, University of Oxford, and University of Sydney. The colloquium is a research conference for advanced Ph.D. students, who present their work for discussion by senior scholars from these universities and beyond.
The Ph.D. Colloquium was hosted at the Gabelli School in 2019 and 2017, and the 2018 Ph.D. Colloquium was held in Australia at the University of Sydney.
The Rising Stars Conference
The Rising Stars Conference is a high-level finance conference that honors four rising scholars, many of whom already hold chaired professorships and have ample publication records. The event sees four rising stars deliver papers, which are then discussed by some of the most distinguished scholars in the field. The Rising Stars Conference is also the occasion for the Trailblazer in Finance Keynote Lecture, which is an honor granted to bold, innovative thinkers who have set the standard for creativity and rigor in the profession.
