In-person Academic Advising Appointments

In-person academic advising appointments provide comprehensive services in a supportive environment and are perfect for when you need to discuss complex subjects and/or make critical decisions about your education. These on-site sessions allow you to connect with your advising dean—one-on-one—building a personalized relationship that will extend throughout your time at the Gabelli School. To ensure your advising dean has adequate time to help you, if you are more than 10 minutes late, you will need to reschedule your appointment.

Virtual Academic Advising Appointments

Hours: Monday – Thursday, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.; Friday, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Location: Online

Virtual academic advising appointments are conducted via Zoom and are a convenient way to plan your course of study and explore a variety of academic options. They are particularly useful for those balancing work/family obligations while earning their master’s degree, as well as those who are studying in our online graduate degree programs. Virtual appointments must be scheduled in advance. To ensure your advising dean has adequate time to help you, if you are more than 10 minutes late, you will need to reschedule your appointment.

Tips for Virtual (Zoom) Academic Advising Sessions

Walk-in Academic Advising Appointments

Hours: Monday – Thursday, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.; Friday, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Walk-in advising hours provide the opportunity to visit the Advising Office without an appointment to ask brief questions that may come up. This flexible option is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Keep in mind, that we support many students and an impromptu visit may require a short wait.

As a walk-in advisee, you’ll have the choice of participating in group advising, during which you can have your questions answered along with other students, or an individual session, which affords you the advantage of a private consultation. While advisors are available during normal advising hours (see above), on occasion, special events or circumstances may affect their ability to meet with you.
