Living in the Bronx

Bronx Street View

Our Bronx Rose Hill campus is adjacent to the New York Botanical Gardens, the world famous Bronx Zoo, as well as Belmont, the Bronx's own Little Italy along Arthur Avenue. Aside from Belmont, the Bronx boasts of its other neighborhoods, including Pelham Parkway and Bedford Park.

Rose Hill, the original Fordham University campus is adjacent to the Bronx Zoo and the New York Botanical Garden. The 85-acre campus is located at 441 East Fordham Road, Bronx, NY 10458. About 6,000 undergraduates and graduates attend with about 2,900 in residence.

Rose Hill Building

In addition to housing, the university provides a meal plan, health center, medical insurance plans and athletic facilities as well as cheap and convenient van transportation between the Rose Hill campus in the Bronx and the Lincoln Center campus in Manhattan.

Many of our students will be spending long hours in Walsh Library, the university's $54 million library. Fordham University Libraries own more than 1.6 million volumes and subscribe to over 11,000 periodicals and are a depository for US government documents. Walsh library also has ample space for study rooms, computers, and conference rooms.

The Graduate Program in International Political Economy and Development (IPED) is housed in Dealy Hall. IPED's main office, its Career and Internship Reference Library, and the IPED Commons are located on the fifth floor of Dealy. Our economics and sociology faculty have offices on either the first, fourth or the fifth floors of Dealy, while our Political Science faculty are located in Faber Hall. Almost all of our classes are conducted on the second and third floors of Dealy. Several "smart classrooms" that utilize the latest in information technology are also located on the second and third floors of Dealy. Terminals for accessing the university's computers and the internet are located in the IPED Commons on the 5th floor, while you can access Bloomberg Terminals from the 1st floor of Hughes Hall.

Fordham IPED students have many options for housing, including university sponsored housing and private housing.
