PCS History

As a student earning a bachelor's degree in history, you will learn about global cultures, events, and themes-from medieval warfare to the war in Vietnam, from early monasticism to sexual revolutions, from technology to food.

Fordham offers a variety of opportunities for history majors:

  • a wide range of electives and seminars
  • internships at places like The New York Historical Society, the Bronx African American Oral History Project, and the Asia Society
  • a certification program in education, allowing you to teach history in public schools
  • an accelerated MA program that can be entered in your senior year

Careers
A major in history develops communication, research, and analytic skills that are in great demand in many fields including business, public service, international work, publishing, journalism, education and social work.
