SPAN 2405 V21 - Healthcare Spanish

The course is specifically designed so that students that have never taken Spanish and students who have or are heritage speakers, could take it. By the end of this course, students would be familiar with the vocabulary and basic grammar that would enable their understanding of Healthcare Spanish at an introductory level. The syntax and vocabulary selected for this course aim at a practical use of language that will allow the students to successfully conduct the clinical interview with the patient. Attention will also be devoted to the socio-pragmatic aspect of language, providing the students with the necessary sociocultural knowledge to succeed when interacting in a healthcare communicative context.

SPAN 2500 PW1 - Approaches to Literature
Summer Session III, May 30 - August 7, 2023
Online, Asynchronous
A basic course in Spanish literature. Close readings in the major forms, prose fiction, poetry and drama, and an introduction to the varieties of critical strategies for reading them. Taught through videos and readings so that you can complete work at your own pace. Along the way, you'll meet up with me and your classmates every two weeks for conversation in Spanish and to hone your verbal and oral analytical skills.
