Marketing data analytics is the group of activities and processes related to collecting, cleaning, manipulating, and analyzing data to generate actionable managerial insights. Insights on patterns, associations, and predictions help firms identify opportunities for innovative offerings and pinpoint potential issues and threats. The marketing implications span monitoring, understanding, evaluating, and improving firm offerings, customer experiences, and marketing and financial objectives.

  • Data Analytics Manager/Director
    Data Analytics Managers/Directors establish and execute the vision for information, delivery, and management. They work on enterprise data warehouses, business intelligence analytics, and content/data management. They partner with other departments to establish priorities and allocate resources to implement business strategies while driving technology strategies that balance short-term and long-term needs and ensure that the data infrastructure can scale and evolve with the business.     Lead/Principal Analyst

    Business Intelligence Analysts collect and analyze data from within and outside the industry and the firm, and design tools and reports to identify threats and opportunities and enhance productivity.     Digital Analytics and Insights Coordinator
    Digital Analytics and Insight Coordinators collect, clean, and manipulate internal and external data. They gather, manipulate, and analyze internal and external digital data to drive insights and recommendations in order to optimize digital activity.   • Data Science Manager/Director
    A Data Science Manager/Director oversees the data science department’s strategies, activities, and competencies.     Data Scientist
    Data Scientists are responsible for collecting, cleaning, and manipulating data to meet the company’s purpose. They work with the data analytics, engineering, and business teams to evaluate and improve existing products.     Data Engineer
    A Data Engineer develops, constructs, tests, and maintains data architectures such as databases and large-scale data processing systems. They build, implement, and optimize predictive models by developing complex algorithms, artificial intelligence, and machine learning techniques, and applying them to big data. They have a working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable ‘big data,’ which are massive amounts of digital information to improve business operations.     Individual Contributor/Senior Independent Contributor
    An Individual Contributor is a professional specialist without management responsibilities who contributes to data teams within an organization. They focus on functional/technical delivery of activities such as data engineering and modeling.     Database Administrator

    Database Coordinator/Associate
    Database Coordinators/Associates are primarily responsible for all data record maintenance by direct-keying and uploading data files, controlling quality, and maintaining data integrity. They maintain department protocol and train users. (BA/BS, 0-3 yrs. Exp.)

    Database Marketing Analyst
    Database Marketing Analysts deliver effective marketing analysis and business intelligence reports to the director of analytics, the marketing director, or others within the organization.     Data Entry Assistant/Specialist
