IT Support Services
Fordham IT strives to offer the highest level of service possible to support the technology needs of Fordham University students, staff, and faculty while maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all.
To achieve that goal — and to comply with current University requirements and public health recommendations — our on-campus IT support services have been modified for fall 2020. While some options are limited this semester, we have put measures in place to ensure that students and employees can get the help they need when they need it.
Instructional Design and Course Design Consultations
Faculty Technology Services offers consultations by appointment for instructional design, web-based course design, and learning technologies implementation. Visit Faculty Technology Center page for more information about consultation and services. Email FTC@fordham.edu to make an appointment.
All classrooms and podiums are outfitted for flexible teaching and learning. Anyone visiting a classroom must practice physical distancing and wear protective face coverings as outlined by the University’s health and safety guidelines.
Faculty in classrooms may request remote assistance by using the hot phone on the classroom wall, or call with their own phone.

Computer lab support is governed by University guidelines on density, which means reduced seating and availability. To access the software currently available in those labs remotely, use the Virtual Academic Space. Students may connect to lab computers remotely to access operating systems and software, except in cases where licensing restrictions prevent applications from being accessed remotely. Residence Hall Cable TV and WiFi
Cable TV and WiFi support is conducted online. In the event of a building outage, technicians will be dispatched as soon as possible. Technicians and anyone they come into contact with must adhere to the University’s health and safety guidelines.
Problems localized to specific residence hall rooms will be repaired by appointment only. Please call IT Customer Care at 718-817-3999 or submit a ticket at fordham.edu
Telecommunications support is conducted online and over the phone. In-person customer support is available by appointment only. Orders for services such as Unified Communications, unified messaging, call forwarding, and voicemail notification can be submitted by calling IT Customer Care or via fordham.edu.
Campus WiFi Availability
Network Infrastructure and Services has been upgrading WiFi access points to increase the reach of the Fordham and eduroam wireless networks throughout the Lincoln Center and Rose Hill campuses. The upgrade includes an expansion of outdoor WiFi options. Students are encouraged to take advantage of outdoor wireless access when possible.
